EnJine 4.0 Beta1

A zip package for EnJine 4.0 Beta 1 is now available at java.net (http://enjine.dev.java.net). Look for it in the Distributions category, on the Downloads section. The package contains source code, compiled classes, a JAR file for easy redistribution and resource files for the samples. EnJine 4.0 brings many improvements relative to prior versions. Some highlights are: New utility classes (BasicObject, BasicUpdater and others) allow for faster game creation, by reducing the amount of coding;GameObjects now can have parent/child relationships; The Camera object has been turned into a specialized Viewable, so that it is easier now to attach it to a GameObject to create chase-view cameras and such. This release is named 4.0 Beta1 because extensive testing of the new features must still be performed. Furthermore, new utility classes will still be added before the final 4.0 release.

Welcome to the EnJine Portal

Welcome to the official website of the enJine project, developed at Interlab (http://www.interlab.pcs.poli.usp.br/) (Interactive Technologies Laboratory) of Escola Politecnica - USP. EnJine is an open-source (GPL) game engine written in Java and making use of the Java 3D API. We also maintain two specialized websites for enJine:the Development Portal at java.net (https://enjine.dev.java.net) which allows access to source code, binaries and documentation for the project.the Portal for Educational use of enJine (http://enjine.incubadora.fapesp.br), which is dedicated to the community of educators who may be interested in applying enJine for didactic purposes. Currently, this site is in Portuguese only.
